If you have a look at the topography of J Zone, you will find that it has a gentle slope towards Najafgarh Drain. It is only because of this reason that there is the natural flow of storm drain from the nearby areas like Mundka, Rohtak railway Station, Bakkarwala, Nilothi, Ranhola (Safipur) and various other villages constructed region of unauthorized colonies towards Najafgarh Drain. The J Zone is spread over an area of 6515 hectares out of which around 2883 hectares of land is available in the form of unauthorized colonies or built up area (commercial, residential and industrial). According to 2001 census, the population of this zone is around 5.0 lac and this population resides in a total of 1802 unauthorized dwellings and around n26 villages. Estimating the exact figures is a little difficult mainly because of the difference in revenue/physical village boundary along with the census charges of the zone.
The length of the Najafgarh Drain located in J Zone is approximately 21.2 kilometers. The drain carries the storm water drainage of the built up area in this zone.
There is just a single planned residential unit is J Zone and it is called Lok Nayak Puram, this residential scheme came into being by the efforts of the DDA and is spread over an area of around 80 hectares. A road of 100 m R/W has also been proposed across this zone. The proposed road shall be serving as one of the most important transport corridors connecting J Zone with NH-10 and NH-8.
Privately owned Educational Organizations and Religious Institution: There are some large religious, meditation and spiritual centres in this zone. These centres are located on land that is privately owned. Apart from these centres, the zone also features various schools and educational institutions.
